
After winning his Conservatory awards in piano, clarinet and writing, Francis Coiteux was hired from the age of 20, as a rehearsal pianist and vocal conductor, for 15 years, successively in the Lyric Theatres of Limoges, Rennes, Lausanne and Nancy.
Turning to teaching, he was appointed professor of writing at the National School of Music in Vichy and Director of the Cusset Municipal School of Music, then a professor of Scripture and orchestral classes at the National Conservatory of Troyes.
As a composer, Francis Coiteux was the winner of two international composition competitions, and his catalogue includes, in addition to numerous instrumental pieces, works for orchestra, dance, vocals, including an opera and an oratorio.
