
POTRAT Rene was born in 1953 in Mâcon, France.
He started playing music at age eight years studying music theory and piano at the Conservatoire de Musique de MACON and he continues learning the saxophone in the following years. A pupil of Jean ARNOULT, professor at the Conservatoire National de Region de Dijon and Serge BICHON the Conservatoire National de Region de Lyon (France). It runs parallel studies of writing the age of sixteen with the composer Jean-Claude AMIOT and Paule PELLIER, organist and assistant director of the Conservatory.
He studied fugue and counterpoint with teachers such as Jean-Luc Salic, Professor of Organ at the Conservatoire de Saint-Etienne, Thierry Bouchet concert and writing teacher at the Conservatoire de MACON and music education with Jos Wuytack, Professor at the University of Louvain (Belgium).
Rene POTRAT is also holder of the qualification status in musical training. Former musician in the Concert Band and Orchestra Big Band of the Army of the Air (FATAC Dijon-France).
